John Elia Scholarship Endowment in Support of Undocumented Students

The John Elia Scholarship to support undocumented students was established in 2014 by Kenneth and Richard Elia in honor of their father and his legacy of supporting public education. He was a dynamic educator who had a direct impact on thousands of students during his 50 year teaching career.

Eligibility Criteria: Student eligibility is automatically determined based on your UC Admissions Application for freshman or by the official University student record for continuing students. Awarded to undocumented students who qualify under the California Dream Act (AB 130/131). Must have a Dream Act Application completed by March 2nd of award year. Open to continuing undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher and entering freshmen /transfer students with an entry GPA of 3.25 or higher. Must demonstrate financial need. Must maintain full time enrollment for both fall and spring terms.
