University Friends Circle Distinguished Volunteer Scholarship

The University Friends Circle (UFC) Distinguished Volunteer Scholarship was started in 2011 by a group of individuals consisting of community leaders, businesspeople and UC Merced staff and faculty. This scholarship was designed to encourage building strong relationships between UC Merced and communities in the Central Valley through community service and to recognize students who work to make a difference in their community .

Eligibility Criteria: Must complete the Continuing Student Scholarship Application by March 2nd indicating an active and ongoing commitment to serving others through community service project(s). Open to any continuing student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50. Must complete a FAFSA or Dream Act Application by March 2nd of award year. Must maintain full time enrollment for both fall and spring terms. Finalist may be asked to submit letters of recommendation as well as participate in an interview panel.
